My hair care journey began in 2008 when I found myself struggling to understand and manage my own hair. I was frustrated with how it looked and felt, and I knew something had to change. Through countless hours of research on YouTube, forums, and blogs, I realized the real problem — I had never been taught how to properly care for my Afro-textured hair.

Determined to learn, I started experimenting, paying closer attention to how my hair responded, and slowly began building a routine that truly worked for me. Over time, I not only saw my hair transform — I reconnected with it. I learned to embrace its beauty, understand its needs, and love every coil, kink, and strand.

That transformation changed my life. I discovered that our hair is not difficult — it simply needs understanding, consistency, and care. When I saw how powerful that knowledge was, I knew I had to share it with others.

That’s why I created The Mane Academy — a space dedicated to simplifying Afro-textured hair care and helping others achieve healthy, thriving hair. Through education, practical routines, and guidance, I’m here to help you build confidence in your natural hair and fall in love with your journey, too.
